Golam Kasem Daddy (1894-1998), born: Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. Popularly known as Daddy, he is a legendary photographer and the first Muslim short story writer of Bangladesh. His well-preserved archives containing glass plate negatives dating back to 1918 provide a fascinating glimpse of history. Founder of the Camera Recreation Club, he held meetings at his home. Members included poet Sufia Kamal, painter Qamrul Hassan and photographer Manzoor Alam Beg. An eloquent speaker and writer on photography, he inspired many to make friends, to break barriers and to discover one another.
